Parents usually blame lack of socializing to their children, but often times they too forget their own actions. Aside from common agreements such as no gadgets near dinner time, other cues from talking, reacting, and treating their children could change how they perceive your order.
Firstly, do not disobey from your own rules. If you have any rules, do not make room for exceptions unless it is absolutely necessary. Talk to them without looking at your phone, or stopping all gadget-related activities (even work-related ones) when your child asks you a question. These kinds of subconscious actions through body language are one of the cues that children always pick up, and it is important to pay attention to what you do with your gadgets just as much as what your child does with theirs.

Watch your own actions as much as you watch your child's!
We as parents must "walk the talk" coz our children is a good copycat of us 😉
